Digha to Chandipur – Chandipur is the small coastal town which is just a two hours drive from Digha. This route is the smoothest with has negligible traffic and no potholes. One can easily find lush greenery on the surrounding that cover most of the road-side area and you can enjoy your journey. The Subarnarekha river follows alongside on most of the way, and Casaurina trees alongside the roads at every turn makes it a picturesque view. If the drive of hundred odd kilometers of the drive do not satisfy, you can zig-zag your way down the coast stopping at charming beaches like Kashafal, Talsari, and the estuary formed by the river Subarnarekha where it enters Orissa.
Route : 1 h 57 min (104.2 km) via Jaleswar-Chandaneswar Road and NH 60
Kasargod to Kochi – The coastal drive would be the great experience and definitely unforgettable! On the way, there are multiple deviations in the route that you can opt for. The forts at Bekal, mosque at Kasargod and Chandragiri, Architectural remains of British era at Thalaserry, and the beach at Kappad which is renowned as the landing site for Vasco da Gama’s crew.
Route – 8 hours 4 min (368.2 km) via NH17
Dhanushkodi to Kanyakumari -Never miss this opportunity to drive to Kanyakumari. You might get warning about it being unsafe but if you’re a skillful driver who loves the bends and hits rather than taking the boring long straights of high way, this is the road is definitely for you. The route is very amazing with scenic views around. The drive from Dhanushkodi to Kanyakumari from one holy city to another, all the way through greenery and wave touched shores, with the clouds over that come down from the Anaimudi hills to encase you comfortably.
Route: 5 hours 24 min (316.6 km) via East Coast Road and NH7
Mumbai to Ratnagiri- It is an remarkable experience to drive through the through the ghats on NH-8 highway you could easily spot birds, animals, etc on the route. The entire route is very scenic and the weather remains cool usually. While going by car you can even come across many historical and cultural places like Deravan, Parsuram ghat, Chiplun etc. Travelling by car on this route is most fantastic experience as you come across many rivers, mountains and many attractive temples and amazing waterfalls.
Route: 6 hours 55 min (325.1 km) via NH66
Chennai to Tranquebar- Tranquebar is not a very popular destination but it is an amazing place to relax and unwind yourself. The road from Chennai to Tranquebar barely a single laned road. The East Coast Road is known to be one of the most amazing drives in India, and most of the people opt to take this road down from Chennai to Pondicherry on their days out.
Route: 5 hour 23 min (284.6 km) via National Highway 45
i’ve done the Mumbai to Ratnagiri one when I went there for a water-harvesting project… was amazing 🙂 Also kind of done half of the drive to Kanyakumari, That was very cool too… Great post 🙂
